Borehole Commissioning in Kalulushi

Chambishi Copper Smelter- CCS handed over 2 boreholes worth 74- Thousand Kwacha in Chati township of Kalulushi on 31st January 2019.
This donation is part of the 243 – Thousand Kwacha that CCS donated to Kalulushi District Administration through its Corporate Social Responsibility Program – CSR for the purpose of improving access to clean and safe drinking water for the local people.
Kalulushi Mayor, RASHIDA MULENGA who was guest of honour said the partnership between CCS and the Local Authority has yielded many fruits as CCS has continued to embark on development projects in the town.
Ms. MULENGA said she is hopeful that more companies will come on board to partner with the local authority to help foster development in Kalulushi.
And CCS Public Relations Officer ELEZETI NYAMBI representing Deputy Chief Executive Officer – DENG YUN said CCS is determined to continue working closely with the government to ensure development.
Ms. NYAMBI says the need for safe drinking water, is one that cannot be over emphasized which is why the company saw the need to contribute towards enhancing access to the life giving commodity.
She further encouraged the local people to guard the donation jealously so that it will go a long way in ensuring that they have access to clean and safe drinking water.
And one of the beneficiaries and elderly man in the township Thomas Banda says this is a wonderful development saying Chinese nationals in the country are really helping the local people.
